Social media is websites and applications that enable users to create and share content among family, friends and business.

There are loads of different types of social media platforms for example:

• Snapchat

• Pinterest

• Tumblr

• LinkedIn 

• Blogger

• WhatsApp

• WordPress

People uses social media for all different reasons for example

​

• To keep in touch with family and friends

• To keep up with the latest news and trends

• To make and share blogs

• To keep customers up to date 

• To show case their business

In HNC Admin & IT I did two social media class.

​

One of the topics was where we were to create blogs using blogger a blogging website. On the blogger site we wrote about social media channels  and the different tools they all use.

​

Another topic we had to do was make a report about three business we uses or liked. We had to write about the aduinece engagement on how they engage with its customers. Also we had to write about how the company get its customers to participate on their social media channels. 

​

I loved doing theses topics as i love to learn about social media as that is one of my favourit classes.

​

One of the other social media class we have is called Web Design.

​

This class entitiles us to learn about websites and how to make them using a website builder like Wix. 

 

Within web design I had to make a report about HTML (Hypertext Mark up Language) and WIX a website builder. We then had to add in different file formats like: Jpeg, Gif, Mp3, and Mp4 and finally for the first part we had to talk about web safe colours. For the last and final part we had to use the three websites used in our social media report to analyse the layout, target audience, and consistency of the three websites.

One of the other topics was to create a website using WIX about our college life like an online CV and advertise it on two different social media channels with at least 20 posts on each.

​

I really enjoyed this class also and found it really enjoyable as i already had some website background knowledge. Makeing websites is something i want to do when i finish college.
